Listen Sound and start to Read,

My name is Amol Motilal Patil (TAG Co-ordinator and Primary Teacher at RZP school Bahirampada). I want to share with you my success in reading English word.  I have a problem that how to tech English reading to the student of grade 1st to 4th. Because without reading books students can’t develop their speaking skill.

So first I decided to make our students able in reading. For this first I tried spelling recitation for my student but for 1st and 2nd standard students it was so boring. Students can’t recite words. Then I found new technology which is leap for word (LFW). Using this technology I got success in very short period of time. In this way first I taught students   alphabet’s main sound for a week. In these we differentiated alphabets in vowels and consonants.

e.g. Vowels – (a – अॅ, e- , i – , o – , u- , oo- , ee- )

Consonants – (b - , c – , d – , f – , g- , h – , j – , k – , l – , m – , n – , p -, qu – क्व, r – , s – , t – , v – व्ह, w – , x – क्स, y – , Z - )

After a practice of sound we tried to read   simple words using sound.  e.g. bag अॅ बॅग, pin पिन. Student could read these words themselves. So they got confidence of reading. They were enjoying this activity. We have taken this activity for 15 days. Video link is given.

After that we have taken a practice of reading word directly and student could read these simple words which pronunciation were only alphabets main sound. We have taken this activity for 8 days only. We have given 5 days for the words having. oo and ee. E.g. book, food, seed, bee

After that we introduced to the names of vowels and explained difference between name and sound of vowels. a’s sound is अॅ and name is   . i’s sound is    but the name is आई e’s sound is and name is o’s sound is u’s sound is and the name is यु. With the help of this knowledge we have taken practice of words those have adjoin vowels e.g. eat for these types of words which have adjoin vowels we told student at this time pronounce the name of first vowel only and do not pronounce second vowel. E.g. tea t’s sound is first vowel name is then pronunciation of word is टी. Also we have taken practice of reading the words having letters in  order as  vowel ,consonant and vowel .At this time also pronounce the name of first vowel. e.g. made m’

s sound is a’s name and d’s sound is   then pronunciation of the word is मेड. Also we have taken a reading practice of some letters group

e.g. th – ch- hiwh-व्ह tion – शन atch- ir / er -   अर ar – आर.

In this way we give technique students to read the words. At the beginning students were reading small words. After that they tried large words and succeeded in it. This was my little try to teach student to read in short period of time. Using this technique 2nd standard students can read 3-5 letters words. And 4th standard students can read their books without help and also they can say spellings of words.

This is very nice way to learn reading English.During this activity Our cluster head Mrs. Patil madam also guided us. In this activity my assistant teacher Mrs. Ippar madam also helped me very well. Our students also have taken efforts. And we got success.
